A biopic about the late cult actress Madhubala and her family is in development. The star’s younger sister, Madhur Bridge Bhushan, says she is “unhappy with creating unnecessary trouble”.

Madhura’s company, Madhubala Ventures Private Limited, is also getting ready to co-produce a biopic with a leading studio.

Madhubala’s sister, Madhur Brij Bhushan, says, “I found out that some people are up to some mischief when it comes to a movie/series etc about my sister’s life without my permission. I ask them not to get involved in such adventures, otherwise I will not leave a stone unturned by accepting the most severe lawsuits.

At the same time, Madhur Brij Bhushan also reports that she, members of her team, as well as her lawyers “decided to initiate certain legal proceedings against certain individuals and firms that were engaged in the illegal use of the rights to Madhubala’s life story.”

She asked actors, producers and talent not to be involved in unauthorized projects related to Madhubala.

Madhur Brij Bhushan says, “I ask that no actor, studio, producer or any other talent be involved in any project that has not been expressly authorized by me because it would be a violation of my family’s legal and emotional rights.”

“Again and again I speak out against the illegal use of rights to my sister’s life story because ideally I would not want to go against anyone in court, especially since my sisters and I are already old and are elderly people. But, if necessary, I will not refuse to protect – legally – what is rightfully ours.

Bhushan is eager to pay tribute to his sister.

“We all feel that the time has come to tell the whole world the beautiful story of Madhubala. She started working as a child and then became the ‘Venus’ of Indian cinema.”

“This is an extremely emotional event for me and my entire family. My team and I want to create a really beautiful, sensual film featuring some of the best talent in the film industry. We need all the good wishes,” she says.

The announcement came after Bollywood producer Tutu Sharma took on the task of making a film about Madhubala’s life.
