New Delhi: A helicopter carrying Art Of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had to make an emergency landing due to bad weather. According to information received today, an emergency landing had to be made at Ukiniyam, a tribal settlement in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Erode district of Tamil Nadu this morning. The Kadambur police, who reached the spot on immediate information, said that Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and all four other people aboard the helicopter were completely safe. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s helicopter made an emergency landing in Tamil Nadu due to bad weather.

According to information, Police Inspector of Kadambur C Vadivel Kumar told the media that, “When the helicopter was flying over STR at around 10.15 am, the pilot was unable to proceed due to bad weather, due to which the pilot crashed Ravi Shankar’s helicopter.” The helicopter had to make an emergency landing at 10.40 am and after a wait of about 50 minutes, at about 11.30 am, the sky was fairly clear and after that the helicopter took off again.

Meanwhile, state treasurer of Tamil Nadu Pazhangudi Makkal Sangam K Ramasamy, who reached Ukiniyam village on the request of former CPI MLA PL Sundaram, told TIO that by the time he reached the spot, the helicopter had received clearance to proceed. “The helicopter was in the village for an hour and started its journey to Tiruppur around 11.30 am,” he said.
